Rate of Spread

Measuring the rate of spread of PCCs during HRA construction is an essential task to ensure long lasting construction and proper levels of skid resistance in the finished product.

VisIR-ROS uses a sophisticated thermal imaging camera to differentiate between cold chippings and hot rolled asphalt; determining the amount of chippings that have been distributed per square metre.

The system relays both percentage coverage and conventional kg/m2 readings in real-time, so that site operatives can make adjustments to the spread rate to ensure proper construction.
